Every organization is only as good as its employees.
People at all levels are the essence of an organization and their full
involvement enables their abilities to be used for the organization's benefit.
To allow them to apply their abilities and release their potential, it
is necessary to involve them in the decision-making process. Doing that
requires promoting commitment and problem solving skills on all levels and to
encourage the employees to take the initiative in seeking opportunities for
improvement.
- 1. Employees contribute actively to the improvement of business strategies.
- 2. Employees adopt the organization‘s objectives as their own objectives.
- 3. Employees are involved in decision-making and the improvement of processes.
- 4. Employees are more satisfied with their work and devote their individual development potential to the service of the organization.
An organization’s people will provide the front line customer services
and follow the vision of the leadership, but they need to be encouraged and
involved. They need to feel and indeed be given ownership. Three facets of
empowerment (each depends on the others):
- 1. Knowledge of what to do, when to do it.
- 2. Will to do what needs to be done.
- 3. The wherewithal to do it.
Quiz

- 2. What are the six (6) QMS mandatory procedures?
