Yesterday, Nigeria celebrated 54 years of independence. Nigeria is Africa’s leading economy and one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It is already competing with developed countries around the world and is quickly becomming a force to be reckoned with. Africa is the world’s second-largest, as well as second-most-populous continent. At about 30.2 million km², including adjacent islands, it covers six percent of the earth’s total surface area and 20.4 percent of the total land area. With 1.1 billion people as of 2013, it accounts for about 15% of the world’s human population. There is no doubt that this continent is a very important piece of a global puzzle and Nigeria is set to take full advantage of the looming African boom.
