    Throwback Thursday- Nigeria


    Western Nigeria Television/Western Nigerian Broadcasting Service (WNTV/WNBS) based in Ibadan was the first TV station in Tropical Africa. It began broadcasting on 31 Oct 1959 and was later taking over by the military government in 1976 and changed to Nigeria Television (NTV) which later became NTA

    Christopher Alexander Sapara Williams was Nigeria’s 1st Indigenous Lawyer. He was called to the English bar on 17th Nov. 1879
    Late Chief Frederick Rotimi Alade Williams, QC,  was the first Nigerian to become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)

    Nigeria’s first Female Medical Doctor, Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Abimbola Awoliyi qualified as a medical doctor in 1936
